Transportation

You can reach the Conference venue in the following ways:

  • By plane to Pisa or Rome airports, and then using the buses provided.
  • By train to Piombino Marittima, then ferry-boat to Portoferraio. A shuttle will be available upon request to connect participants to the conference site from the Portoferraio harbour.
  • By car to Piombino, then ferry-boat to Portoferraio and a short drive to La Biodola (10 km). Since parking is limited at the Hotel Hermitage, we encourage participants to use public transportation or the provided buses as much as possible.

Conference bus

The conference bus will connect the Conference site to Rome Fiumicino Airport - "Leonardo da Vinci" (FCO) - and to Pisa Airport "Galileo Galilei". The bus can be booked during registration at a cost of 50 € per one-way trip. Please find below the schedule:

Saturday, May 18th: destination Hotel Hermitage and La Biodola (for the participants to the training school)

  • from Pisa airport "G. Galilei" (PSA) at 15:00.

Sunday, May 19th: destination Hotel Hermitage and La Biodola

  • from Rome Fiumicino airport "L. Da Vinci" (FCO), terminal 3, gate 4 at 11:00.
  • from Rome Fiumicino airport "L. Da Vinci" (FCO), terminal 3, gate 4 at 13:30.
  • from Pisa airport "G. Galilei" (PSA) at 15:00.

Friday, May 24th: origin Hotel Hermitage

  • to Rome Fiumicino airport "L. Da Vinci" (FCO), terminal 3 at 7:00 (expected arrival at 12:30)
  • to Pisa airport "G. Galilei" (PSA) at 7:00 (expected arrival at 11:00)
  • to MEDAMI conference at 7:00 (expected arrival at 12:00)
